AGM 2021 THEMED “RESURGENCE”

The Annual General Meeting was held on 11 February 2021

We elected a new director Maggie Pound. Maggie is a stalwart of Stitch and Chat and has a great sense of humour. She  has already been helping by looking for additional sources of funding so we can survive and thrive.

The KEC is in a tough situation like many organisations throughout the country. The meeting agreed on a number of activities to restart once matters improve and we can open up again. It was agreed to widen our networking efforts with other community groups in Kingston. There was also agreement to make the centre more available as a community resource including finding funding for free community uses.

A further strategy was widening the offer- more health and fitness based programmes. Using the online forums such as “KEC Keeping In Touch” as a source of ideas. The meeting also discussed liaison with Little Star, after school club to build links from a younger generation. It seems that despite all the difficulties the KEC will continue to plat its part in the unfolding story of our borough.
